This is an interdisciplinary lesson that integrates social studies, language arts, art and technology. The presentation component also involves the performing arts. This targets grade 4 (but can be adaped for higher levels).

Piaget was a Swiss psychologist who studied children, and how there cognitive processes work. He believes we all advance through a series of stages. For age’s seven to eleven, there is increasing capacity for abstract thinking. Children have mastered conservation (where the overall value of something does not change). Children begin to categorize things based on convergence.
